1. Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. Clinicians additionally provide professional credentials, specialties, languages, location, and fee information. Patients may optionally share preferences such as ethnicity background preference and session format. We also collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance purposes.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to operate the AsianTherapist directory, match patients with clinicians, send transactional emails (account verification, inquiry notifications, review requests), and improve our service. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Clinician profiles
Clinician profiles — including name, photo, bio, specialties, languages, location, and fee — are publicly visible on the AsianTherapist directory. Clinicians are responsible for the accuracy of their own profile information. Contact details (email, phone, WhatsApp) are shared only with verified patients who initiate an inquiry.
4. Patient privacy
Patient accounts are private. Your name, email, and preferences are not displayed publicly. When you submit an inquiry to a clinician, your name and message are shared with that clinician only. Reviews you write are attributed to a masked version of your name (e.g. "Priya S.").
5. Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase (PostgreSQL) with encryption at rest and in transit. We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS, row-level security policies, and hashed passwords. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing hello@asiantherapist.app.
6. Cookies
We use only essential cookies necessary for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. No third-party analytics scripts are loaded on this site.
7. Third-party services
We use Supabase for database and authentication, Vercel for hosting, and Gmail SMTP for transactional email. These services process your data only as necessary to operate AsianTherapist and are bound by their own privacy policies.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@asiantherapist.app. We will respond within 30 days.
